Janet Fish has been creating one-of-a-kind dolls since 1976.

She says "I've been dabbling in art in one respect or another since I was a little girl. It was only after I moved to Kansas in 1995 that I found my inner muse." Art making is her therapy as she struggles with the pain of arthritis.

Janet says, "I enjoy working with cloth the most, the feel of the fabric and the surprise I feel when I see the expression I created on the face of the doll and her or his posture."

Janet designs or free cuts with no patterns. She works almost entirely on an intuitive level, and uses everything from old sheets and acrylic paints, to polymer clay, foam insulation and recycled clothing in her remarkable creations.
